
Deacon James Carabajal is the Chief Executive Officer of the Catholic Community Foundation, where he provides strategic leadership and vision to advance the Foundation’s mission of faithful stewardship and service.
Deacon James joined the Foundation in 2014 as Chief Financial Officer, bringing with him deep expertise in nonprofit finance and governance. In 2017, he was promoted to CEO, where he continues to guide the organization with a focus on sustainable growth, mission alignment, and compassionate leadership.
A Certified Public Accountant, Deacon James began his career in public accounting in his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He later joined Philips Semiconductors, where his work in production cost measurement, containment and global compliance. Prior to his tenure at the Foundation, he served as Executive Director of a large orthopedic healthcare delivery system, overseeing complex operations and financial strategy in the healthcare sector.
Ordained in 2009, Deacon James currently serves at All Saints Catholic Church in Mesa, where he continues to live out his calling as a spiritual leader. As a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher, he has participated in pilgrimages to Rome, the Holy Land, and Lourdes.
Deacon James holds an undergraduate degree in accounting and an MBA from Arizona State University. His professional and spiritual vocations intersect in his passion for serving others, helping organizations thrive while guiding individuals in faith.
Outside of work, Deacon James enjoys spending time with his wife, Liz, their five children, and one grandchild. He is an avid fan of classic Western films—especially The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly—and loves sharing laughter and good company with family and friends.
