Dcn. James Carabajal, MBA, CGMA, CPA Biography
Deacon James Carabajal is the Chief Executive Officer of the Catholic Community Foundation, where he leads the Foundation in its mission of supporting the Diocese of Phoenix by encouraging philanthropy and providing financial support for education and evangelization. Prior to serving as the Foundation’s CEO, Dcn. James worked in the public accounting/consulting and healthcare industries for nearly 23 years before joining the Foundation as the Chief Financial Officer. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico and an MBA from The W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Dcn. James holds an active Certified Public Accountant Certificate as well as several Diaconal Theology certificates from the University of Notre Dame. Dcn. James is an ordained deacon currently assigned to Our Lady of Mount Carmel serving with Father John Bonavitacola. He previously served the Archdiocese of Santa Fe as an assigned deacon in Albuquerque, NM. Dcn. James and his wife of nearly 30 years, Liz, have five children.
Kyle Felix, CPA, CA
Director of Finance and Administration
Kyle Felix, CPA, CA Biography
Kyle Felix is the Director of Finance and Administration at the Foundation. Kyle is responsible for ensuring the financial reporting and information is accurate and complete. This ensures the information is appropriately interpreted and provides useful information for decision making. Kyle also handles the administrative aspect of the Foundation, including hiring, payroll and process management.
Kyle received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a major in accounting from the University of Saskatchewan (Canada). Kyle is certified as a CPA in Canada and the United States for six years and three years, respectively. Kyle and his wife, Meghann, live in Mesa with their daughter, Averie, and they enjoy the outdoors and going to the pool. Kyle is a sports fanatic, and more specifically, a Philadelphia Eagles loyalist. Feel free to give him a hard time!
Communications and Fundraising Officer
Chrissy Pate Biography
Chrissy Pate is the Communications and Fundraising Officer. She does a wide range of activities from event planning, social media, program support and Foundation’s communications. Chrissy has been will be with the Foundation for five years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Print Journalism from Arizona State University and has a minor in Business. She has 16 years of experience in communications and program management. Chrissy and her husband, Keith, live in Mesa with their daughter, Isabelle and dog, Oscar. They enjoy attending sporting events, especially at ASU.
Development Services Officer
Kristi Perry Biography
Kristi Perry is the Development Services Officer and works closely with both the Development and Finance teams on a variety of projects and programs, including scholarships, funds, gifts, donor stewardship, process development, and data integrity. Kristi joined the Catholic Community Foundation team in August 2017. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Arizona State University and has 14 years of professional experience, mostly in the non-profit healthcare industry. Kristi and her husband, Steven, live in Anthem with their two children, Emma and Grayson. They enjoy seeing movies and going to Disneyland together.
Dominique Combs Biography
Dominique is the Development Associate at the Foundation. She has worked in both political and Diocesan development in Arizona for five years. She is most excited to combine her love of the mission of the Church and her passion for philanthropy.
Dominique received her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science from Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University, in History and Political Science. She will receive her MBA from Arizona State this coming December.
She lives in Chandler with her husband, Truman, and their dogs a Golden Retriever, Posy and a Goldendoodle, Penny. They enjoy doing anything outdoors and sports-related.
Development Associate II
Bill Hicks Biography
Bill is a Development Associate at the Foundation. He has worked in both Diocesan and Parish development in Arizona for several years. He is excited to be a part of the Foundation team and hopes to bring more solutions to donors within the Diocese.
Bill graduated from Lake Superior State University with a BA in Pre-Law. He has worked in the Financial Services field for over 25 years.
Bill and, and his wife, Laura live in Cave Creek and have four children. They like to do anything outdoors including camping, fishing, skiing and exploring.
Tyler Greuel Biography
Tyler Greuel recently graduated from Edwards School of Business with distinction. In the summer, he worked at a small accounting firm, as an auditor, that focused their auditing efforts on First Nations Bands financial statements. Tyler is eager to work for CCF because it presents a unique opportunity to learn different accounting practices than the standard accounting firm can offer. He hopes he can make contributions to the Foundation that will leave a lasting impact within the community.
Katherine Auman Biography
Katherine Auman is the Administrative Assistant. After growing up in Tucson, Katherine moved to Phoenix to attend Arizona State University. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Communication and a Minor in Business Administration. Her professional background is primarily in retail banking, with an emphasis in Operations. Katherine is excited for the opportunity to work with the CCF team and to contribute her skills to the mission of the organization. Katherine lives in Phoenix with her husband Bryan, two children (Kate and Joseph), Golden Retriever (Trevor) and cat (Francis). In her spare time, Katherine enjoys reading and spending time with her family in the White Mountains.
