Shop For a Cause

The Catholic Community Foundation is called to help the many front-line agencies within our community fulfill their missions. We strive to be the "servant of servants" in our Diocese by bridging the gap between faithful philanthropists and those most in need.

In fall of 2020, The Catholic Community Foundation partnered with ShopForACause, an online giving platform designed to help promote the tangible needs of our local parishes, schools, and nonprofit agencies. The program was called Digital Giving Tree, and it was set up much like the physical Giving Trees located in Parish lobbies during Christmas time. CCF reached out to various organizations within our community to ask for their participation. Organizations then submitted a list of needs that were preloaded into the portal.

How it Works

When online supporters visit the ShopForACause website, they can choose from a list of local organizations that have chosen to participate. When an organization is clicked, the user can then scroll through a list of needs and “shop” for their donation. Such items include anything from basic hygiene products to Chromebooks and laptops. Once a user chooses their item(s), and secure payment is made, the item is shipped directly from the warehouse retailer (Amazon/Walmart) to the organization for a contactless and efficient giving experience.

The response for the Digital Giving Tree was overwhelming this past giving season. The ShopForACause team hopes to extend the online giving platform to a year-round resource for our community organizations. Search below to “shop” for a local organization in need!

Boost a Foster Family

Boost a Foster Family was created to meet the needs of low-income kinship families applying for foster care licensure. We receive referrals from Arizona Department of Child Services and Arizona licensing agencies that are working with families experiencing financial difficulties. We believe that by helping to provide in-kind donations and services, (such as fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, fees for CPR classes), we can remove some of the obstacles that slow down the licensing process while at the same time making a home safe for these vulnerable children.
